At Choice Baptist Church, we believe in the transformative power of Jesus Christ. We are dedicated to the service of God and all His people. Our goal is to glorify Him by empowering believers to be the light and salt of their communities.
Our church is located in Kampala, Uganda along the 8th Street Industrial area (Namuwongo Road) within Wabigalo slum.

We are part of Kampala Baptist Association and we are affiliated to Baptist Union of Uganda which is the umbrella body for Baptist Churches in Uganda. We also work closely with other evangelical churches in Uganda, and we partner in many areas of ministry.
The church is located in Kampala, Uganda - along 8th Street industrial area (Namuwongo Road) - within Wabigalo slum. Being located in the heart of this slum, we share not only the challenges of being part of the suffering community, but also the immense opportunity to bring healing and hope to this community.
As a church that is located in the heart of Kampala and in the heart Uganda, we believe that we are privileged with opportunity to bring transformation to our city, nation and region with Gospel.
STATEMENT OF FAITH
SCRIPTURE
The Holy Scripture was written by men divinely inspired and its God’s revelation of himself to man. It has God for its author and it is totally true and trustworthy. It is the perfect and supreme standard by which all human conducts, creeds and religious opinion should be measured. 2 Peter 1:21, 2 Timothy 3:16-17, Psalms 119:75 and Hebrews 4:12-13
GOD
There is one true living God, He is spiritual personal being, creator and sustainer of the entire universe, God is eternal triune God, He is infinite in holiness and all other perfections and reveals himself to us as Father, Son and the Holy Spirit with distinct personal attributes but without division. Genesis 1:1, Genesis 1:26, Mathew 3:13-17, Isaiah 6:1-3, Deuteronomy 6:1 and Mathew 28:19
MAN
Man is the special creation of God made in his own image. In the beginning man was innocent of sin and was endowed by his creator with freedom of choice by his own free choice, man sinned against God and brought sin into the world. Therefore every person born has sin nature and can only be redeemed by God’s grace through faith in Jesus. Genesis 1:26-27 and Ephesians 2:8.
SALVATION
This means deliverance or rescue from lostness and the wrath of God. It involves the redemption of the whole man and is offered freely to all who accept Jesus Christ as Lord and savior who by his own blood obtained eternal redemption for the believers. Ephesians 2:8, 1Corinthian 6:19, Romans 8:29-30 and Romans 6:23
CHURCH ORDINANCES
We believe in two ordinances for the church. These are baptism by immersion in the name of the father, Son and the Holy Spirit as symbol for the believers’ faith in the crucified, buried and risen savior Jesus Christ. The Holy Communion, this is done in remembrance for the death of the death of our savior Jesus Christ and anticipation for his second coming. Mathew 3:13-16, Mathew 28:19, Romans 6:1-9 and 1 Corinthians 11:23-34
CHURCH
This is the community of God’s redeemed people all who have truly trusted Christ alone for their salvation. The Lord Jesus Christ is the head of the church.
THE LAST DAY
God in his own time and his own ways will bring the world to its appropriate end. Jesus Christ will return personally and visibly in glory to the earth, the dead will be raised and Christ will judge all men in righteousness. The unrighteous will be cast into a place of everlasting torment, whereas the righteous will be in eternity in the presence of God. Isaiah 2:46, 11:9, Mathew 16:27, 18:8-9, Mark 8:38, John 3:3, 2 Peter 2:4-10 and Revelation 1:18.

Since our founding in 2000, we have ensured that the ideals of our faith are deeply ingrained in all that we do in the Lord's Kingdom. Our congregation is fueled by a firm belief in the teachings of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and when we are together under the Holy Spirit of God — we become one.

MISSION WORK
We are church that is committed to fulfilling the great commission as commanded by our Lord Jesus Christ. Among others, we are involved in evangelistic work; leadership training activities, church planting work, marketplace ministries.
We particularly focus on reaching people with the Gospel through many forms of mission activities in our city and beyond.
CHOICE NURSERY AND PRIMARY SCHOOL PROJECT
In 2002 we started school project in response to the challenge of illiteracy in Wabigalo suburb.
The objectives for the school have been to reduce illiteracy, provide quality education with rich Christian values, and reduce muslim fundamentalism and other social challenges which are so prevalent in the community.
We accomplish our objectives through imparting Biblical values in the lives of the children we teach, the Bible is central in everything we do in the school.

BRIEF HISTORY
Choice Baptist Church was started in 2000. It was born out of a Church planting initiative of Jimmy Hodges Ministries - in partnership with the Baptist Union of Uganda.
Through this initiative, Jimmy Hodges Ministries provided the initial financial support and connected us to other churches that were being planted across Uganda. The initial church plant was overseen by a team of pastors from Kampala and other parts of the country.
The founding pastors of the church were pastor BONIFACE NTENZILYAGO and MAWA RICHARD. Both had now moved on to other ministries where they continue to serve the Lord .
